Monday, March 19, 1945 pg. 9 “Killed On Leyte” While serving with an infantry unit inside Germany, Pfc. Cyrus A. (Ben) Reynolds of Eureka was killed in action March 2, according to word received by his parents, Cyrus Reynolds and Mrs. Charles Webb of 4201 Little Fairfield street. Pvt. Reynolds was born 22 years ago at Fortuna, attended school at Petrolia and the Eureka High school. In civilian life he was employed by the Hammond Lumber company before entering the Army in December, 1942. He trained at Camp Howze in Texas and Camp Clairborne in Louisiana. Also surviving are his sister and brother, Ellen Reynolds and Albert W. Reynolds of Eureka. |
