Thursday, January 25, 1945 pg. 12 “Robert Martenusen Killed In Action” Robert Martenusen. Whose father is Capt. Stefanius Martenusen of the Antelope, was killed in action during fighting December 16 in Belgium, according to word received from the War Department. His brother, Edward, was killed several months ago in action in the South Pacific. Robert Martenusen was a Eureka High graduate and was assistant shipping clerk at the Humboldt Bay Woolen company mill before enlisting. He trained at Fort Ord and had served in Scotland, England and Belgium. Both soldiers had made their homes here with Mrs. A. E. McLaren. |
