Monday, April 23, 1945 pg. 3 “Cpl. Val O’Kane Killed In Action” Corporal Val O’Kane, 23, of Portland, Oregon, and who had lived in Eureka with relatives and had frequently visited here, was killed in action in Germany, according to word received here. Cpl. O’Kane entered the Army from Portland where he had been employed by the telephone company. Surviving are his wife and daughter in Portland; his father, E. E. O’Kane of Monterey Park; brothers and sisters, Don O’Kane of Eureka; Robert O’Kane of Garberville; James and Gayle O’Kane of Portland, Gladys Winter, Mrs. M. Hurlybutt and Mrs. H. Nelson, all of Portland. |
