Tuesday, January 23, 1945 pg. 1 “Killed In Action” ARCATA, Jan 23.- Sgt. Woodrow Harrell, formerly of Arcata and an employee of the Hammond Lumber company at Samoa, was killed in action recently according to word received here. Sgt. Harrell entered the Army in 1942, trained at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was an instructor in the Tank Corps before going overseas. He was a nephew of Mrs. Ray Garrett and Orba Harrell of Arcata and lived in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Garrett. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Audie Harrell, six brothers and four sisters all live at Exeter, Missouri. |
